Pirhi z rdečim zeljem / Red cabbage Easter eggs

⎨SI⎬ Letošnji pirhi v nežni modri barvi. V trendu in naravno.

Zmaga!

Potrebujemo

  • pol glave rdeče zelja
  • 10 trdo kuhanih belih jajc
  • 1 žlica belega kisa ali limoninega soka

Postopek

  1. Zelje narežemo na in operemo.
  2. V velik lonec nalijemo vodo in v njej pokuhamo zelje, vsaj 15-20 minut.
  5. Jajca bodo obarvana modro. Ko vam je željeni odtenek všeč, jajca vzamete ven, jih obrišete s papirnato brisačko in pripravljena so za praznovanje Velike noči.

Nasvet 1: če bi želeli marmoriran efekt na pirhih, pustite rdeče zelje notri, ko se jajca namakajo in dodajte malo koščkov narezanega masla.

Nasvet 2: Rdeče zelje le porabite za kašno fino juhico. Malo zelja, malo krompirja, jušna osnova, spasirano s paličnim in smo zmagali!

⎨EN⎬ This year’s pirhi in a dusty blue. Trendy and all natural.

My favorite technique for Easter eggs coloring is with natural colors, last few years I prefer to use red cabbage, as they are close to gentle bluish tones, which can implement perefct to an Easter table setting.

Coloring with red cabbage is very easy, and cabbage can be used for soup later. Enjoy!

We need

  • half red cabbage
  • 10 hard boiled eggs
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Cut cabbage into thin pieces in and wash.
  2. Pour water into a large pot and boil cabbage for at least 15-20 minutes.
  3. Strain the purple water into another container and wait for it to cool.
  4. Put the hard-boiled eggs in cool colored purple water, add a tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice and leave in the cold place for 10-14 hours (preferably overnight).
  5. The eggs will turn blue. When you like the shade you want, you take the eggs out, wipe them with a paper towel, and they are ready to celebrate Easter.

Tip 1: If you want marbled effect on the eggs, leave the red cabbage inside as the eggs are coloring and add small pieces of sliced butter.

Tip 2: Use red cabbage for a fine soup. A little cabbage, some potatoes, a soup stock, and that’s it!
