⎨SI⎬ Še nekaj dni in naše kuhinje bodo postale pravcati umetniški ateljeji, v katerih bodo platno zamenjala velikonočna jajca.
⎨EN⎬ Easter bunnies are peeking from behind the corner. In the next days our kitchens will become art studios and canvas will be replaced by Easter eggs. Every year we look for ways to make our own dyes in a natural way and we enjoy it immensely, because we always find something new and surprising. This year we are excited about all shades of green and so are our eggs.
Recept za zeleno obarvane pirhe
Sestavine
- 10 skuhanin belih jajc
- Pol glave rdečega zelja
- 1,5 l vode (oz. količino prilagodimo glede na zelje)
- 1 žlico kurkume v prahu
- 2 žlici belega kisa
Priprava
- Rdeče zelje narežemo na manjše kose.
- Zelje zalijemo z vodo in kuhamo približno 20 minut
Recipe for green coloured eggs
Ingredients
- 10 boiled white eggs
- 1/2 head red cabbage
- 1.5 l water (or adjust the amount according to the cabbage)
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
Preparation
- Cut the red cabbage into smaller pieces.
- Pour water over the cabbage and cook for about 20 minutes.
- When cooked, add turmeric and white vinegar and cool all together.
- Add the eggs that have been cooked before and leave them in this liquid in the cold for at least 36 hours.
Tips
- The color comes out best on white eggs.
- The more we add turmeric, the closer the green will be to a warmer shade.
- If the eggs are washed well with white vinegar beforehand, the color will be more intense and visible after 24 hours.
- If leftover cabbage is left in the dyeing process, different patterns will be imprinted on the eggs.
